    International Day of Peace 2015

    “I want to kill you, war.”

    September 21 is the United Nations International Day of Peace. The theme of this year’s commemoration is “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for all.”

    Peace events are held by groups and organizations all over the world. One of them is World Poetry Canada. They are hosting a 24 hour international Peaceathon celebrating peace through poetry, art, music, dance, photography and films. Peacecast.tv is run by volunteers who get together for an annual 48 hour webcast. See also International Day of Peace.

    To celebrate the day, IFLAC Founding President Ada Aharoni read peace poems from her poetry collection Rare Flower on IFLAC Radio and talked with radio host Motti Gerner about peace and her work. Some of the poems were also sung.

    Ada is a wonderful peace poet and very engaging to listen to. One of her poems is “I want to kill you, war” quoted above. Listen for yourself:
