    Heads-up: 24 Hour Peaceathon

    Text: Solveig Hansen

September 21 is the United Nations International Day of Peace. The theme of this year’s commemoration is “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for all.”

World Poetry Canada will host a 24 hour international Peaceathon celebrating peace through poetry, art, music, dance, photography and films. You can join, too. Visit their website to register.

    Peaceathon 2015

IFLAC already registered. Ada Aharoni will read peace poems from her poetry collection Rare Flower on IFLAC Radio. Her film Pomegranate of Reconciliation will also be presented. This is a documentary on possible reconciliation and peace between Israelis and Palestinians, based on the similarity of their uprooting – Palestinians from Israel, Jews from Arab countries.

Update: You can now listen to the poetry reading. See International Day of Peace 2015.
