Poem of the Month, February 2014: Coffee for two

On this Day of Love, we chose Ada Aharoni’s Coffee for two as the poem of the month, dedicated to the memory of her husband. Ada was married to Haim Aharoni for 55 years until he passed away in 2006. The poem is included in her latest poetry collection, Rare Flower – Life, Love and Peace Poems.

    By Ada Aharoni
Dedicated to the memory of my dear Haim, written on the sixth anniversary of his departure, July 7, 2012

    Coffee for two
    is life shared
    in harmony, in safety
    joy, peace
    and love

    Coffee for two
    is sharing each other’s
    hopes, thoughts, tribulations
    and fears of terror manipulations
    by frightening war-mongers

    Coffee for two
    assures me you will always
be hugging me safely my love
    always be a full cup
of love, of hope, of life

Even now when you are not
    here anymore, the warm aroma
    of Coffee for Two
    warms my heart.
